Masinde Muliro Fourth Year Student Murdered In Cold Blood, Comrades Mourning
Kenyan university students have for a very long time been facing challenges when it comes to security especially those who live outside the institutions given that the places they live are congested and at the same time expensive even prompting some to join crime which in turns hits back to other students. In the near past a comrade made to headlines after unknown people who were trying to steal from him killed him in cold blood.
Yesterday morning, the Masinde Muliro University of science and Technology University woke up to sad news that one of their own students had been reportedly stabbed on the chest severally by unknown people. The incident which happened in Kakamega county has led to the students questioning their security at the place as they feel they are not safe anymore.
The fallen comrade was identified as Jonathan Telewa a fourth year student who was pursuing his dream course of Engineering after back in 2017 performing well in his Kenya certificate of secondary education. The said comrade as reported by Nipashe campus flavor was found unconscious lying on a pool of blood by some good Samaritans who rushed him to the hospital and later passed on while receiving treatment.
The student leaders and the Masinde Muliro University family at large have called on the security personal to investigate on the matter and bring the persons behind the death of one of them to book. Furthermore, they have called on the same security personal to strengthen security in the area so as to prevent same case from happening in the future.
