RIP! Exclusive List of Veteran Kenyans Who Have Died In 2020 (photos)
2020 is a year like no other and it will be in the history of Kenyans and the rest of the world forever. This is the year that seams the longest as many events have happened this year. As a country we have lost many veteran persons to whom were of great impact to the country. Some of them are powerful people who shaped the country in one way or the other. Here is an exclusive list and report on veteran Kenyans who have died in 2020:
1. Daniel Arap Moi
The late Mzee Daniel Torotich Arap Moi is one of the old veteran men who shaped the country in what we have today. He was the second president of Kenya after Mzee Jomo Kenyatta who died in 1978. Mzee Daniel Moi Ruled for the longest time in Kenyan history and willingly left office in 2002. Mzee Daniel Torotich Arap Moi Died on 4th February 2020 at an age of 96 years. He will be remembered for his hardwork and determination in shaping Kenyan history. He will be remembered for his maziwa ya Nyayo program that encouraged many to go to school.
2. Charles Bukeko
Charles Bukeko was a veteran actor who was commonly known as Papa Shirandula. He was known for portraying the character of Papa Shirandula in Citizen TV. He also appeared in film in 2012 known as Captain of Nakari and will forever be remembered for his powerful motivation to the entertainment industry. He died on 18th July 2020 aged 58 years.
3. Ex Changamwe Mp Kajembe
He was a popular politician from Coast province. He was a member of Orange Democratic Movement and was elected to represent Changamwe Constituency in the National Assembly. Until his death he was respected for his Generosity towards the citizens and also will be remembered for his development of his constituency. He died on 7th August 2020 after allegedly contracting Covid-19.
4. Bishop Silas Silvius Njiru
He was a Roman Catholic Bishop and was born in 1928. He was ordained to priesthood back in 1955 and served as bishop of the Meru Diocese from 1976 to 2004. He contracted Covid-19 Pandemic while in Italy and unfortunately succumbed to the same disease. He died aged 92 years and will forever be remembered for his wonderful job as a Bishop.
5. Dr Doreen Adisa
Dr Doreen Adisa entered history when she became the first medical doctor to die of Corona virus. She was a mother of twins and also was a doctor in Nairobi and worked as a gynacologist. She reportedly died of Corona and was laid to rest at her rural home in Bungoma County.
6. KQ Pilot Daudi Kibati
Daudi Kibati was a long serving pilot who worked with Kenya Airways for a long period of time . He will be remembered for his last journey as a pilot when he flew kenyans back to Kenya from New York. It is Reported that it's during this last trip as a pilot that he contracted corona virus which led to his untimely death. May he rest in peace.
Other powerful or known people who have died include;
Keroche Breweries heiress Tecra Muigai for died due to injuries sustained after falling
Brother to Bungoma County Senator Tony Waswa Wetangula who died of Corona Virus
Aisha Kajembe who was the daughter of the late Changamwe Member of Parliament who also died of Corona virus and ironically buried on her birthday
