Kenyan government has put in place some measures and instructions that the learner drivers and instructors have to follow for the sake of safety of other road users. One of the instructions is such vehicles have been fit with two breaks one on the instructor's side and another one on the learner's side. However, accidents are prone to happen sometimes.
Last evening irate residents from Kimilili Constituency burned down a vehicle from a local driving school after the vehicle knocked down an infant aged 5 years who had just left hospital. The vehicle which was being drove by a lady Learner is said to have diverted from the road and hit the boy who was beside the road.
Among those injured were also the infants mother and grandmother who had just come from Hospital where the boy was sick. Confirming the incident the Kimilili ocpd revealed that the incident happened at a junction in Kimilili bokoli road and that the infant had already been taken to Dream land mortuary.
The residents who took action by there hands revealed that they were very angry as the number of accidents in the area has been on the rise. However, the Kenya police ocpd revealed that they are under investigation on the matter and those involved will be arrested and further more action taken against them. He revealed that there are better ways of dealing with such cases and taking action by themselves is not good.
