Mount Elgon Senior Chief Killed Recently Finally Laid To Rest
Mount Elgon Constituency for some time has been characterised with insecurity among other negative cases. The Constituency which serves as the border between Kenya and Uganda has seen insecurity and bad politics affect its development.
The government for sometime have been trying to reduce and eventually end the preparation and the selling of illegal brews and the chiefs have been given the major role of ensuring that persons linked to illegal brews fished out and dealt with by the law.
The local leaders have since promised to keep the police on toes to ensure that proper investigation is conducted and the persons behind the death of the chief be charged in a court of law. Furthermore, the local leaders have also called on the residents of Mount Elgon to ensure that they promote peace even as the general elections are around the corner.

Recently, a senior chief known as Geoffrey Kipsang Festo was killed at his Chebyuk locality over what was linked to his fight against illegal brews. The chief was known for his hard work and determination in fight over illegal brews that had taken alot of youths and men captive.
The chief who was on the forefront in fighting illegal brews was one evening laid a trap , as revealed at his funeral , and when he went to check what was going on at a place he suspected was a den of illegal brews that is when he was killed by unknown persons.
